A new color scheme and circuit variation of the Shatterbox!
Out of the 3 Bartell Shatterboxes I studied, each one had variations. One consisting of a single knob and only 2 transistors. I’ve combined the biasing of this unit with the 3 transistor circuit and sprinkled some Creepy Fingers magic dust on it. A more aggressive sustain than the original. Less gating and sonic artifacts. A sound that spans the garage rasp of the Maestro Fz-1 and liquid crunch of the MkI Tone Bender.
This circuit features a pair of NOS Japanese 2SB54 transistors very well suited to Shatterbox. Also a very rare set of original custom color white Dakaware knobs. Also a matching red circuit board. This color scheme is limited to 27 pieces
